Rebreathers in Aqaba

These are some of the pictures we took while experimenting with rebreather use in Aqaba. The unit was a Semiclosed Draeger Dolphin which proved adequate for exploring most of the diving in Aqaba. We also explored to air technical limits using a 32% nozzle with EANx 30. A Draeger O2 gauge was used to monitor ppO2, at the deepest bit of the Taiyong wreck this read a comfortable 1.44ata.Decompression was carried out on open circuit. Mark Ellyatt visited Aqaba in March to run a Pelagian rebreather course. The Pelagian is a new diver controlled closed circuit rebreather (DCCCR) developed by Andy Fritz and manufactured in Thailand by Rebreather Lab.
