The Go PRO Challenge 2008 is all about getting the most out of being a PADI Instructor. As the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, we have a vested interest in helping you provide consistent high quality instruction to divers throughout your instructing career.What are the aims?
This challenge is about developing and enhancing the skills and talent that you have for being a scuba diving instructor. Regardless of where you work and how often you teach, achieving the aims of the Go PRO Challenge 2008 will result in a case of You Win - We Win and the whole diving industry Wins from an increase in active divers.Are you a DM or AI?
Get the most out of your skills - upgrade your rating to OWSI and use it to realise your dream of teaching people to dive. If you accept the challenge, you will need to:- Achieve your OWSI rating in 2008.
- Certify at least 10 Open Water Divers and 7 Advanced Open Water Divers in 2008.
Are you already a PADI OWSI, MSDT, IDCS or MI?
Part-time or independent instructor?
If you generally certify just a few divers each year, increase your certifications by just a few more - develop and enhance consistency and your enjoyment in instructing.Busy full-time instructor working in a Dive Centre?
If you already certify lots of divers each year, increase your certifications and continue to develop and enhance your business and your livelihood.Either way, to meet the Challenge, you will need to:
- Increase your certificate count in 2008 by 30% over your count in 2007 in each of the following categories: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster
- (Let's be fair to everyone: if your certificate count is already over 100 in any of the categories, you only need to increase your certificate count in 2008 by 30 over your count in 2007 in that category.)
What will you get in return?
Every entrant who achieves one of the aims set by the Go PRO Challenge 2008 will receive:- A certificate of achievement
- Entitlement to a 30% discount off Member price on your next order of PADI product
- Entry into a draw to win the 1st Prize of a DOXA Dive Watch (retail value approximately £ 1,500 sterling)
- Entry into a draw for the Regional Go PRO Challenge 2008 Award for their territory
Regional Go PRO Challenge 2008 Award
Each Regional Award winner will receive:- A bursary from PIL of £ 750 sterling to be used for professional or business development (e.g. website re-development, additional instructor training, a local advertising campaign, purchasing additional training materials).
- Assistance from your Regional Manager and the PIL Marketing Department in putting together a promotional article relating to your scuba diving career and instructor achievements. This will be released on padi.com and to your local Dive Press.
- The Regional Go PRO Challenge Award Plaque for your region, engraved with your details, to display for one year, plus an individual plaque recognising your achievement for you to keep.

How do you enter?
To take part in the Go PRO Challenge 2008, you must download an entry form from the PADI Pros' site and send it to your PADI regional office by the 1st January 2009. Without this entry form you will not be automatically entered into the draw. How to find out what you need to do to enter:- Log on to www.padimembers.comunder your own name (not the Dive Center!) and click on Members Toolbox
- Under 'Member Services' click on PIC Processing Report
- Enter Start Date of 01 JAN 2007
- Enter End Date of 31 DEC 2007
- Click process and a list of all the certifications you have will appear
- Count the certifications and calculate what you need to achieve to enter the Go PRO Challenge 2008
